YouTube API Services

Meisterveda Studio uses YouTube API Services to read and manage the owner’s YouTube channels. By using Meisterveda Studio you are also agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Who uses the tool

The tool has one user: the owner. It is not offered to the public and has no sign-up. It only connects to YouTube channels that belong to the owner, and it only keeps data about videos on those channels. A video from any other channel is ignored.

What data it accesses

When the owner signs in with Google and connects a channel, the tool reads the following from YouTube. It stores only what is listed here, for the times given under “How long data is kept”.

• Channel information: the channel’s name and ID, the ID of its uploads list, and its subscriber and video counts.
• Video information: the IDs, titles and publish dates of the channel’s videos, and their view, like and comment counts.
• Comments: public comment threads on the owner’s videos, including the comment text, the commenter’s public display name, and the comment’s date and like count.
• Uploads: videos the owner chooses to upload, with the title, description, tags, thumbnail and visibility the owner sets, and the ID YouTube gives the uploaded video.
• Access tokens: the credentials Google issues so the tool can act on the owner’s channels.

Sign-in happens on Google’s own page. The tool never sees or stores the owner’s Google password, and it does not access any other Google data, such as email or contacts.

How the data is used

• To show the owner YouTube’s statistics for the owner’s channels and videos, each exactly as YouTube returns it. The tool does not add them up or derive new figures from them.
• To show comments and prepare suggested replies. A reply is posted to YouTube only after the owner approves that reply.
• To upload a video when the owner starts the upload. The owner decides the title, description and visibility.
• To include the public link to one of the owner’s own videos in a post on X that the owner approved.

Suggested replies are drafted on the owner’s private network, on the owner’s own equipment. Comment text is not sent to any outside service to do this.

The data is not used for advertising or profiling, and nothing is posted or uploaded without the owner’s approval.

How the data is stored and protected

Everything the tool keeps is stored on a server the owner runs and controls, on a private network that is not reachable from the internet. Connections to Google use HTTPS. Google access tokens are stored encrypted, and are only decrypted when the tool calls YouTube on the owner’s behalf.

The tool’s database is backed up nightly to the owner’s own storage on the private network, with an encrypted offsite copy; backups are kept 7 days, so deleted data is gone from every backup within 7 days.

Sharing

The only YouTube data that leaves the tool is the public link to one of the owner’s own videos, placed in a post on X that the owner approved. No statistics, comments, channel details or other YouTube data are shared with anyone.

YouTube data is not sold and not used for advertising. Replies and uploads the owner approves go to YouTube itself. The one exception would be a disclosure required by law.

Cookies and analytics

The tool uses a single cookie, only to keep the owner signed in. It has no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

This website, where the policy is published, sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.

How long data is kept

• Channel information, video information (including publish dates) and comments are refreshed from YouTube every few hours, and deleted if not refreshed within 30 days. What YouTube answered about an upload (its video ID or an error) is cleared 30 days after the upload finishes.
• Statistics are refreshed from YouTube every few hours and deleted if not refreshed within 30 days.
• At least every 30 days the tool also checks that each video still exists on YouTube, and removes the data of videos that have been deleted.
• Access tokens are kept while a channel is connected, and are deleted immediately when the channel is disconnected or when Google refuses them.
• Backups are kept 7 days, so anything deleted from the tool is gone from every backup within 7 days.

Deleting data and revoking access

• In the tool: disconnecting a channel in the tool’s settings asks Google to revoke the tool’s access right away, and deletes all YouTube data stored for that channel immediately from the tool, and from backups within 7 days. If Google cannot be reached, the tool says so and points to the Google permissions page below to remove access there; the data is deleted either way.
• From Google: access can be removed at any time from the Google security settings page at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. The tool then stops accessing YouTube and deletes the stored YouTube data within 30 days.
• By request: anyone can ask for YouTube data related to them to be deleted by emailing [email protected]. It is deleted from the tool within 7 days of the request, and from backups within 7 days after that. While the channel stays connected, a deleted comment is not copied into the tool again.

Deleting data from the tool does not delete anything on YouTube. Videos and comments on YouTube are managed in YouTube itself.

People who comment on the owner’s videos

Comments come from YouTube’s public comment threads on the owner’s videos. If you have commented on one of them, the tool may hold a copy of your public comment and public display name, refreshed from YouTube every few hours and deleted if it is not refreshed within 30 days (for example, once you remove the comment on YouTube). You can ask for it to be deleted by email, and while the channel stays connected it will not be copied into the tool again.

The tool does not knowingly collect information from children. It reads comments only on videos where YouTube itself allows comments; YouTube turns comments off on videos made for kids. Comment data is refreshed or deleted within 30 days, and any of it is deleted on request.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page and the “last updated” date above changes with it.
